Expressions of Interest for Community Support

Alice Springs helping itself — together.

Give2Give is about connecting the dots — between people who give and those who make good things happen. Some give money, others give time, talent or ideas. Together, we all give what we can — and together, we build a stronger Alice Springs.

If you’re a community group, club, or individual with an idea that will help strengthen connection, cohesion, or confidence in Alice Springs, we’d love to hear from you. This is not about applying for funding in the traditional sense — it’s about joining in, sharing your idea, and having the community stand alongside you.

What Support Is Available

Give2Give supports community-driven projects and initiatives that build belonging, cohesion and local capacity. Support is generally between $1,000 and $10,000, depending on funds raised.

Groups don’t need to be incorporated or have DGR status or even a bank account— the Foundation can auspice funds on your behalf, making it easy for anyone to take part in #GettingGoodStuffDone.

Support

You can register your idea under one of the following streams:

1. Strengthening Existing Community Good Stuff

For activities that maintain or grow what’s already working.
Examples might include:

  • Sports club updating or replacing equipment
  • Volunteer training for a long-standing multicultural group
  • Seniors’ intergenerational tech help program

2. Supporting New Initiatives

For fresh ideas and community innovations.
Examples might include:

  • Youth arts collective staging their first community exhibition
  • Multicultural food market start-up
  • Community-led environmental project

3. Events that Build Community Connection

For gatherings and experiences that bring people together. Examples might include:

  • Storytelling and music nights
  • Community garden open day
  • Marketing plans for local festivals or fetes

4. Other

For ideas that don’t fit the above but still build connection and belonging

How It Works

The process is simple and designed to be light-touch:

  1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) — Tell us a little about your idea, what support you need, and what difference it will make.
  2. Invitation to Proposal — Selected EOIs will be invited to expand into a short proposal (usually a few pages).
  3. Review — Proposals are reviewed by the Community Working Group, which includes respected local representatives and Foundation Board members.
  4. Funding Announcements — Successful initiatives will be announced publicly and celebrated early next year.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for ideas that build connection, pride, and community strength. EOIs are scored against the Give2Give campaign priorities and their weightings:

  • Alignment with strategy & stream (20%)
  • Community connection & cohesion (20%)
  • Unlocking potential (15%)
  • Positive impact & narrative shift (15%)
  • Practicality & capacity (#GettingGoodStuffDone) (20%)
  • Sustainability/ripple effect (10%)

Accountability, Not Paperwork

We’re partners, not paper-pushers. Accountability is needed of course, but we are aiming for a light-touch — a few photos, a short story, a social media post, or a community acknowledgment. What matters most is showing what your initiative achieved and how it helped strengthen Alice Springs.

Submit Your Expression of Interest

EOIs are open from ➜ October 21 to November 20, 2025.
It’s quick and simple to complete — and we encourage everyone with an idea or need that can’t be met elsewhere to get involved. Grassroots and emerging groups are especially welcome.

About the Foundation

The Mparntwe Alice Springs Community Foundation is the first and only community foundation in the Northern Territory. We are independent, not government, not outsiders — a community-owned structure for long-term benefit.

Our mission is to build community connection, cohesion, and confidence — helping Alice Springs help itself. Tax-deductible giving is made possible through our partnership with the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).

Give Well. Be Change. For Alice.

We can’t solve everything at once — but we can start by helping each other out to build the Alice we need. If you’ve got an idea that will make Alice Springs stronger, more connected, or more hopeful, now’s the time to share it.
